Hi All!

My programmer doesnt support the PIC18F14K50-I/P my question is what kind of PIC should I use.

There is no other choice of through-hole PIC which supports USB.

You can if you want use one of the FT232RL breakout boards that are available from places like Sparkfun. If you use one of those, go for the 5V output version. Connect the DTR or RTS pins (either will do) to where Pin 9 of the PIC is shown to go in the schematic.
