TrojanDownloader:Java/Vigorf.A AstroEQ.exe
« on: February 03, 2018, 02:43:36 »

Hello,

Windows defender is claiming the AstroEQ has a Trojan virus on it. You might want to check to source to see if it hasn't been tampered.

Best regards,

Hi John,

Is this the one you downloaded from the Downloads page?

I've just downloaded it and all seems to be in order - see screenshots.

Also, per Norton Safe Web, both the AstroEQ site and the ZIP file from the Github are safe:
AstroEQ Site Report
Download Report

Having looked at what the detection is, it seems to be a false positive because the config utility can download the latest AstroEQ firmware version if you ask it to.

Kind Regards,
Tom.

Could you let me know which version of the malware definitions that your computer has?

I've submitted the ZIP file from the downloads page to the Microsoft defender website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission) and that reports as no malware detected (definition 1.261.1595.0)
