diy astroeq+can't connect to config utility
« on: July 19, 2017, 21:28:13 »

Hi, i have some some problems with my diy astroeq, as i can't connect to the config utility, i tried on ubuntu, windows 10 and xp.
Of course it connected the power supply before trying to connect, but each time it failed.

Yesterday i tried on the terminal the command " sudo lsusb -v | more" that returned lots of details and it seems that the astroeq controller is recongnised by ubuntu, but i still can't connect.

Is there someone who experienced the same behaviour of the controller.

For Linux you'll need to link the AstroEQ CDC serial port (usually /dev/ttyACM0 or similar) to one of the unused serial port devices e.g. /dev/ttyS80 or any of the /dev/ttyS## that is unused. You can do this using a symbolic link. The config utility will only detected /dev/ttyS## ports on Linux.

Additionally I still need to update the Linux version of the config utility as it is outdated. I'll try to do that this evening. In the mean time you can run the windows version in WINE if you are in a hurry.

Latest version of the configuration utility for Linux is now on the AstroEQ repository (in the downloads folder and also in the repository).
