No voltage coming out of the DEC
« on: February 04, 2018, 01:39:51 »

Hello,

I have been enjoying the AstroEQ product as I build a custom GOTO device for my mount (Celestron SP-C6) . My problem is that the DEC has stopped working. No voltage seems to be coming out of the Dec port using a VOM (Fluke). The RA works perfectly. I have full connectivity across all wiring. And wiring matches RJ-11 specs and meets the Stepper motors wiring needs. EQMOD and ASTROEQConfig show the system operational. But the DEC seems dead. Anything else I could check?

Hello,

I have it figured out. I used the instructions to set the amps to determine if the pots needed adjustments. It is working now.

Hello,

I am wondering about the pots. I am getting funny numbers when checking for Volts. 0.00, 12.98, 1.68 are some of the readings. I am using a Fluke 179 to test with. The RA works. Then it doesn't. The DEC does not come on.

Hello,

The driver was replaced for the DEC.

Hello,

Found the other culprit. A bad RJ-11 cable was the real problem. I bought two new ones. When I set it up with the new chord, problem was solved.
