Astro EQ V4.0 no connection time out

I have recently done a successful update and configuration but the final EQMod test times out with a no connection and the EQMod configuration does not see my selected COM port , when I do a search for COM port it cannot find one used by the Astro EQ, as recommended by Tom I have fitted a 1k resistor between pin 12 and pin 31 0n the ATMega 162 chip to allow the board to accept the new update configuration 3.8.3, the status LED flashes for a second twice when trying to connect any ideas?

I meant to ask, what number is the COM port you are using? Is it in the range COM1 to COM16?
