Huston I have a problem.
« on: March 10, 2019, 16:06:59 »

I have finished making my very large GEM mount and have come to wire in my Nema 17 stepper motors.

Configured the box of tricks.
To screen shot
Says it is all good when I update.

Go to test with EQMOD and.
on slew speed 1

Press North the motor steps round clockwise.
Press South the motor still steps clock wise.

On Speed 2
Motor just judders back and forth.

on Speed 3
Motor spins in both directions

on Speed 4
Motor starts to turn then stops but still creates a whining noise.

Anyone any ideas please.

Sounds like you wired the motors up wrong.

The RJ11 connectors are wired out as: xABBAx, where x is no-connect, A is one coil and B is the other coil.

Sounds like you have wired it up as xABABx which would cause the behaviour your describe.
