Hi,
For the next batch of AstroEQs, I am planning to do a batch of either 25 or 50. I learnt from the last batch that if I am doing more than a handful, the amount of time it takes to manually solder them all is immense, and even with lead-free solder and extractor fan it is probably not good for me in the long term.
As such for this batch I will be getting them assembled professionally. The net result of this is a delay to my Easter estimate. In order to support machine assembly I've had to design a new PCB which is more compatible with automated processes which has meant I've had to make a couple of prototype boards. The final prototype appears to be functional so I have sent the design off to get a quote for assembly.
Best estimate it will be between 25 and 30 working days for manufacture and assembly in order to keep the costs down which factoring in Easter puts us somewhere at the end of May.
I'm sorry to push the estimate back a month, but I hope you can understand the necessity. On the plus side getting 50 made would allow for greater availability between batches.
Kind Regards,
Tom.
