dec motor only turns one way
« on: May 01, 2015, 12:55:17 »

hi tom, thanks for sending the astroeq got it all set up and loaded ,when testing the mount the dec motor will only run one way ,when i change direction it makes half a turn in that direction before reversing , the motor then clicks and hisses , i adjusted the screw on the motor driver they are  warm to the touch but not hot now ,the ra motor seems to grind to a halt when stoping the mount also . im using the standard motors that come with the dual axis kit (non syn scan one). im not much of an engineer or anything so not sure whats up. slew speeds no greater than 64x and is set to 1/4 step . any help be appreciated cheers

Those dual axis motors aren't great. If you try slewing in EQMOD using the NESW buttons, try starting off slow and seeing if they run OK. If they do, keep increasing the speed, trying all directions, to see what point they stop working at.
