Nice and tidy work!

You will have good guiding on that mount whit the 0.9 motors. Not sure about slew speed?

Anyway, glad that you got all sorted out!

Hello.

1) I would go for nema 17 1.8* degree step motors. Just order from ebay, look for good torque ratings. You can do nema 17 0.9* degree step also. But there might be some speed issues anf you need to know how to solve problems if you have eny.

2)Go for belt drive if it is possible whit g11. Definedly no for eny flexible system.

3)I dont think the chinese 1:5 system is good. Go for belt!

Not here often. Try to post in cloudynights forum. Pm me there my nick is JukkaP

Thanks for fast reply!
I will try if my allready good tracking will show some improvement whit 32 microsteps. Last season I used 16 microsteps and it worked fine. Did you look that clip, you think the sound is ok? Never had that kind of sound in the motors before. The sound is same whit 16 microsteps. I use drv8825 controllers whit heatsink+fan, at about 1.6A

Hello. I just updated my astroeq.

My motors started to sing ;). Looks to me that they are working properly. Cant test yet on stars, too bright in here.
Here is youtube link:

I have nema 17 motors they are 0.9 degree step. Astroeq says somerhing about ival too small? Is that a problem?

Everything is working whit 16 microstep. I have not tryed the 32 microsteps, will try when its not so cloudy. Had to get some images to process. I can get 10min frames whit no trailing so happy whit that.

Hello. dont know if enyone is reading the forums?. its been really cloudy in here. have not been able to test my 0.9 deqree motors. But they are installed now and running.

I get the warning about ival being too smal whit 32 microsteps.

should it be working or should i use 16 microsteps?

By the way, I installed a fan to the asteoeq box, drv8825 were pretty hot whit 1.7A. So i have heatsink +fan in the box now :).

best,
Jukka.

Capabilities Question / Eq-5 whit 0.9 deqree nema 17 steppers
« on: September 16, 2016, 06:30:17 »
Hello. New in here.

I had problem whit dec guiding, i was using nema 14 motors. Was looking the fault on my mount for long time. But:

It seems that my motor or the drv8825 control was fried during last winter. The drv8825 dont hold up the voltage i have set to it. Drops from 0.6V to 0.17 sometimes.
I'am getting today new motors and new drv8825 controllers.

The motors are nema 17, 400 step motors.

Shoulf it be plug and play? Or should i be aware of something?
