Thanks again Victor. I think that I will just have to go through the whole setup slowly step by step.

Thanks for your response. I have followed that video and EQMod shows the mount has responded. But the mount only moves a minute amount.

AstroEQ is using com port 8. Should EQMod also use com port 8? When I test with the slew keys all is well. When I run EQMod toolbox coms test it says that Com port 8 does not exist.

Confuses the hell out of me.

Wonder if any one can assist me with this frustrating problem.

I have set up EQMod to park and unpack my scope in the home position.

The scope unparks ok and I can slew the scope any which way when I use the slew buttons in EQMod.

When I tell the scope to mount to park EQMod show and states it is parked. The mount however does not move to the home park position.

The goto feature appears to work, at least the scope moves in the correct direction.

Due to poor conditions I have not been able to polar align the mount as I cannot see Polaris through the polar scope. Polaris is how ever in the centre of the scopes eye piece.

Any one any words of wisdom. This and the weather are the only things holding me back now.

Thanks

Hi Tom.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Do you recommend that I fuse the positive leg, if so what size fuse would you recommend?

The AstroEQ is working fine, just need some clear nights to do the setup.

Has been constant cloud here in Germany and no clear nights forecast for sometime yet.

Hi all.

Are there any points that I need to be aware of if I run my AstroEQ from a 12 volt deep cycle battery? The battery is 20 amp hours.

Many thanks

Thanks Victor.

I put a mark on the pulley and could then see that it was stepping.

Have a good one.

Hi all.

I have now mounted my motors etc on the mount and in the testing phase with out the telescope. "Dry run". I select a target in Cartes du Ciel and the mount slews and once it completes the goto slew the RA motor tick like a rapid firing machine gun. I assume that it is in tracking mode. Is this the normal way that the stepper motor works, or do I need to increase the power to the motor via AstroEQ? The motors run cool through out the operation. Many thank.

Hi all.

Can anyone please advise me of the way to work out how long the belts should be on NEMA 17 motors?

I have 40 tooth MXL pullies and 15 tooth MXL pullies.

It is impossible to get 128.02 and the 123.95 belts to fit as the pullies are to far apart.

In anticipation.

Many thanks
