Beta Firmware Releases / Re: [Completed] AstroEQ 8.0.3(beta)
« on: March 08, 2017, 07:51:25 »
Hi Tom
i have load the new config.
The sounds from the motors sounds much better.
Feels like a more moderate acceleration and braking.
I will test it as soon as possible at a starry night

Hi Tom
Where can I download the new test-version?
My stand is not quite finished yet, I'm waiting on parts until Dec. gearbox.
But there will be heavy, about 100 kg, and I think that should axelerationen was a little softer. I feel that it makes a jerk at the end.

AstroEQ Support / Re: Nema 17 take a short paus every sekond.

Thanks Tom.

The problem is solved! I have now adjusted the two engines. One of 0.4 A that I put on 0.20 V and one of 1.2 A, which I put 0.6 V (RA- engine)
I will switch to 1.2A later

Now it evenly and finely laser.
Brilliant!!

Hi Tom

I have not set any limit for the motors. It is 12 v motors. I need to change something?

On config program i set 1.8 angle + 36:1 (gearbox)+ 13.666 :1 (big belt wheel)

My gear is now on my desk and I have attached a laser pointer on the output shaft. I can see exactly how the engine works.

Hi Tom
I boughte a AstroEq for a few weeks ago and i test it at my table.
The motor stay up for a short time every second (approximately).
it does not matter if a try 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 u-steps.
I have attached a laser on the shoulder so I can clearly see that it halt

The motor is a 2-phase 0,4 A 200 stepps Nima17 ( I have ordered a Nima17 1.2 A)
What do you recommend?

I have read on this topic was written in May 2015. Shall i jump 2 pins on the IC ? (but its a new AstroEQ?)

Mount Support / Re: appropriate gear for friction wheel
« on: December 20, 2016, 07:16:39 »

This is my obseratorium today. A 12" GSO whith a 6" guideteleskop. It is a home made mount fixed to the ground. I take some photos with it with the help of PHD2.
But i want to change RA and DEC axles to have more stability against the wind.
GOTO is also on my wish list. I think AstroEQ can arrange it...

Mount Support / Re: appropriate gear for friction wheel

Hi Tom,

Thank you for the reply. It will be easy to switch gear box in the construction as I planned it. I will try 400:1 at first, and if I feel that the go to function is too slow I will change the gear box. I have several at home to choose from.

I can send you a sketch of the construction later.

Mount Support / appropriate gear for friction wheel
« on: December 19, 2016, 13:34:05 »
Hi Tom
i want to build a new mount from scratch. I want to use friction wheel. The big one is 260 mm and the small one
is 12 mm. Perhaps same size on both axles. The gear ratio 260/12 becomes   21,6666:1.
Whats is the best further downshift do you think?
i have a gearbox that provides 400:1, is it to much?

How fast (rev/minut) can a Nema 17 without breaking?
My telescope weighs about 28 kg (62 pound)
