DIY AstroEQ / "Write Failed connec tion unavailable"
« on: May 22, 2020, 15:40:34 »
I have been trying to get my AstroEQ board configured to run with an EQ5 (will actually be run with a GPE but that isn'r relative to this problem) . When I try to run the config utility all works well until the last when the message above appears and it takes me back a stage. The power light is on full time, the usb light is pulsing and the status light flashes as the utility tries to upload and write the config but the result is as said. Any ideas please.

Sorted out the duff joint betweenC13 & C14 and away she goes, loaded the EQ5 config to the controller successfully. My mount is actually a GPDX but I believe the gear ratios are the same. Thanks for the help I shall now sort out the stepper motor cables and mounting gear. Regards

Hello Again,
I have checked the board for dry joints and reflowed 3 but to no avail. Attached are two pictures, the solder side of the PCB and a screen script of the failed update prcess. Hopefully they will be useful to you! Thanks & Regards

Thanks for the quick response, yes I'll double check the back of the board with a magnifying glass and when I've done it post a picture here tomorrow.

DIY AstroEQ / Cannot Update Controller!
« on: December 10, 2019, 15:24:45 »
Just built me controller (V4.6) using all Farnell parts aprt from the PCB and Micro-controllers which were purchased pre-programmed. when I fired up the Astro EQ config utility it informed I had out of date firmware so I used the utility to update it. The update attempt failed and I get a message stating "Programmer not responding" and "Not in sync". I have attached a picture of my controller to aid in diagnosis, any help would be appreciated.
