Connect Error
« on: January 30, 2017, 18:50:18 »

Hi,
After being assembled, I installed Astroeq driver, 2-ascom platform, 3-EQMOD, 4-Astroeq config utility, 5-follow steps here: https://www.astroeq.co.uk/tutorials.php?link=/doku/doku.php?id=config,
and in EQMOD I get this error: Connect Error: Timeout.   On my laptop same steps give me following error: Connect Error: Port not Available
Both computers are runnig windows 7 64bit... What to do?
I forgot to mention that I have not yet connected motors with RJ11 cable because I have not bought yet...

Is the AstroEQ config utility able to communicate with the AstroEQ?

Yes everything fine.. read and write... no problem. After numerous install and uninstall drivers, in device manager appear AstroEQ Mount controller (com6) without errors, but still give me error: port not available. First plug power cable then usb cable... Usb LED blinks faster, STAT LED - no light.

Try manually changing the COM port EQMOD uses. It's possible that the AstroEQ config utility is failing to set the COM port for you.

There's a program in the EQMOD folder called EQASCOM Toolbox. If you open that, then click the "Driver Setup" button. Then in the EQMOD ASCOM setup screen that appears, select the correct COM port, and set the Baud rate to 9600.

Out of curiosity, which version of EQMOD are you using? Would be interesting to know if the EQMOD.ini file has changed and that is causing the port not to be set.
