Hello Tom.

I am ready to place an order for ASTROEQ and will also orders 2 Steppers from Zapp automation.
sy28sth45-0674a from Zapp automation.  I also need to order Pulleys and Belts to go with them.

My Mount is an NEQ3 without motors.
Do you have any recommendation on gears I should use with this mount?

Please let me know if I need to specify anything else when ordering.

Hi.

Could I please put my name down for one of your AstroEQ's  from the Christmas batch for delivery to Europe?

I am aware that I will probably not receive it until some time after Christmas.

I have a Bresser EXOS-2 mount with a crap GOTO system?

Many thanks.

Regards.

Hi all,

Quick update. I'm back from the states now, so can look at making another batch of AstroEQs. I've ordered the PCBs, which should arrive some point in the coming week. I need to order the components as well though.

I only really get a chance to make the AstroEQs at the weekends, and am busy next weekend, so it will be the second week in November give or take when they become available. I'm aiming to make 20 or so, so they won't all be ready in one weekend.

There are a few people who have already called dibs on some of them. I need to go through and make a list of who has already requested one so they can get the first ones. Once those are all sorted I'll post here to note how many are left.

Kind Regards,
Tom.

Hi Tom,

I'm working on a project to restore our university's observatory (I attached a picture of our mount).  We found your AstroEQ through Google and we think it might be what we need to modernize it.  We were able to get the 1986 controller to run again, but we'd prefer to replace it.  It currently has two 8-phase stepper motors which we are considering replacing with 4-phase motors with 10-1 gearboxes and some modern stepper motor drivers.  The university also has a copy of Starry Night Pro Plus 7, which can control telescopes through ASCOM.  We've been looking for a device like yours to put in between.
Since we're starting fresh, do you have any specific motors/drivers that you would recommend work best with your controller?
And i'm not familiar with international shipping, so about how long would it take to ship an AstroEQ to Idaho (US)?  The semester ends mid December, so we would need it before then.  And if not, could you point me to another viable option?
Thanks,

Dallin Hull

Quick update. Sorry it's taking so long to get this batch ready, making 25 as a batch has taken longer than anticipated as I've only had time last weekend and this weekend to get them made. Currently there are 25 assembled PCBs sat on my desk. I need to put them in cases which I'll do tomorrow, and then they will be ready.

I'll be sending out a e-mails this coming week to those who have mentioned that they are interested in one from this batch. Good news is that they are ready well in advance of Christmas for those who were hoping to get one by then.

Kind Regards,
Tom.

Woop, there are now AstroEQs ready to order.

I have sent out e-mails and private messages to people who have previously contacted me (if you got a duplicated messaged I apologise). If you haven't got an e-mail it means I have probably missed you when going through a mixture of PMs, e-mails, and this thread. If I have missed you, please send me a PM.

I should add that when I sent the messages the first time I somehow managed to say there are "are no AstroEQs available", that was supposed to read "are now AstroEQs available". The moral of the story is proof read ;)

I've sent about 22 messages out, so it is possible that this batch may all go. I will update this thread in a week or so once I have a better idea of how many of those are still wanted so I know how many are currently left.

Kind Regards,

There are about 5 left, give or take. However, I'm currently away for Christmas, so won't be able to post any out until the end of next week.
